Mumbai, October 31, 2017: In a major development, online audio and entertainment streaming platform Saavn has teamed up with Amazon for its Alexa voice service. Reinforcing their stronghold in South Asia, Saavn is one of the first music streaming services for Alexa in India and will be made available on Amazon’s Echo line of devices. All Alexa-enabled products from Amazon will come pre-enabled with Saavn and will begin shipping country-wide from the week of 30th October, 2017.

The relationship marks Saavn’s initial foray into the voice OS space, a sector which is expected to grow with the growing demand for IoT products across the world. It also underlines the platform’s commitment to make high-quality music more accessible to Indian audiences across multiple service channels by enabling convenient music streaming.

To listen to your favorite music on Saavn, all Amazon Echo users need to do is ask Alexa to play a song of their choice. Users can ask the voice service to play a song by its title, an entire playlist from their favorite singers or composers, or play the music album for a particular movie. Alexa also enables users to search for and stream songs by genre (rock, party, hip-hop etc), as well as the actors who have featured in them. Saavn’s top playlists, such as Road Trip and Golden Ghazals, can also be streamed by users through Alexa.
